Ewan Mackenzie, aka The Wine Thief, is available for private hire to assist in escorting small groups out into the winelands on guided tours, focusing on clients’ particular wine preferences and taking them to those specific Cape wine regions. Providing one-on-one sessions with the winemakers adds an even more tailor-made experience to the behind-the-scenes elements of the process – with barrel tastings, vineyard tours and private dining experiences all on offer.

This is one of the most important aspects of hospitality, especially in South Africa, and one that is most important to our overall success in business and the industry as a whole. It is the responsibility of industry professionals to empower and invest in their staff with the knowledge and skills to perform at their best, and project the professionalism of the business from the front of house. During these structured and uniquely-curated training programmes, specific care and attention is paid to all aspects of the business, from product knowledge, to service delivery, to the psychology of how to recommend different products to particular guests.

Curating all types of beverages, from coffee to cocktails, with a strong emphasis on local craft beer and smaller, unique local wine producers. This service is delivered in a way that best expresses the style of the venue, what the customer base specifically desires, and what makes the best sense in order to improve overall business performance and establishment branding.

Whether it’s a large-scale Industry event or a smaller scale function, services can be provided from assisting in the curation, execution to behind the scenes logistics and coordination. One of the main collaborations, as an example, is the ‘Fresh’ Festivals of both Constantia and Somerset West, hosting up to 1300 guests in unique winelands settings.
