2014 Vintage: SOLD OUT
Total Production: 400 bottles
Wine of Origin: Elgin – 12.5% vol.
Sommelier-Winemaker Collaboration with Catherine Marshall, whilst at Hannay Wines
Tasting Notes: Thinly-shaved cured meats and fresh porcini mushroom, touch of braai smoke and a delicate core of hedgerow brambles and maraschino cherries.
Winemaking Notes: Made from a 1.68 Hectare block of 667 Dijon-clone grapes. Natural ferment, old French oak (300L barrels) left to naturally go through malolactic fermentation, and then bottle-matured for a year before release. The block was taken over by another winemaker from 2015, so once again I was out-thieved!
A new collaboration with Catherine Marshall for the 2020 vintage will revitalize this passion for clone-specific Pinot Noir from the Elgin Valley.
